DOL
USA
The federal agency charged with administering and enforcing over 180 federal laws protecting US workers, including laws regulating payment of wages and hours worked, discrimination, workplace safety and health, leave law and plant layoffs and closings. For more information about the DOL and the laws it administers and enforces, see the DOL's website (http://www.dol.gov/dol/aboutdol/main.htm).
In addition to the federal DOL, US states maintain their own departments of labor administering and enforcing similar state laws.
