an expectation of succeeding to property. It is not a title, but adventurous lenders may see it as a form of comfort. A person whose hope did not come to fruition because the testator's intentions were not legally effected by a negligent solicitor was compensated to the amount of the succession from the solicitor's insurers rather than the estate, which went to someone else: Ross v.
