unilateral error

unilateral error
error of one party. If induced by the other party, the unilateral error may amount to an operative misrepresentation. If it is uninduced, then it is very likely that it will have no effect on a contract whatsoever. In Scots law, it is treated as being a weighty factor in relieving a party who has granted a unilateral gratuitous obligation.
