district judge
district judge n: the judge of a district court

Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary of Law. . 1996.

district judge
A Master is a type of High Court judge who sits at the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand, London. There are a number of centres of the High Court outside London, these are called District registries. District judges deal with the type of work which Masters do in London, namely smaller and/or less complex applications than those which are heard by a High Court judge (or, in the District registries, a Circuit judge authorised to hear the matter).
