exchange-traded derivative
A financial contract traded on a regulated derivative exchange, such as the London International Financial Futures Exchange (LIFFE) and the Chicago Board of Trade. Only members of the exchange are permitted to finalise contracts, and non-members are only permitted to transact through a broker member of the exchange.
