Collins dictionary of law. . 2001.

interim receiver
If it is shown to be necessary for the protection of the debtor's property, the court may at any time after the presentation of the petition and before the making of the bankruptcy order, either on the application of the debtor or a creditor, appoint the Official Receiver as interim receiver. An interim receiver is appointed in respect of an individual debtor's affairs. Like a provisional liquidator, his role is primarily to protect the debtor's estate.
