no-action letter

no-action letter
In the context of UK competition law, a letter issued by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to grant immunity from prosecution to an individual who is involved in a cartel offence under the Enterprise Act 2002. A no-action letter may be granted providing certain circumstances are met, for example, the individual admits his participation and co-operates fully with the investigation. An individual seeking a no-action letter should approach the Director of Cartel Investigations at the OFT.
