Sherman Act

Sherman Act
a US statute that was the first to regulation competition there. It controls contracts, combinations and conspiracies in restraint of trade and agreements and the like designed to bring about monopolies in any part of commerce.

Sherman Antitrust Act (Sherman Act)
USA
The federal statute prohibiting contracts, combinations or conspiracies that restrain interstate or foreign trade. The Sherman Act also prohibits a person from monopolizing or attempting to monopolize any part of interstate commerce by anticompetitive means. It does not prohibit natural monopolies or monopolies created through effective competition.
