NPL

NPL
USA
The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) guide to US hazardous waste sites that are eligible for action financed under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). The EPA places sites on the NPL after screening them through the Hazard Ranking System, soliciting public comments and addressing those comments. A site is removed from the NPL once the EPA determines that further action to protect the environment or human health from that site is unnecessary.
