Stevenson 1932 SC (HL) 31 as later developed, there will be no liability if the defect could have been intercepted between the manufacturer and the consumer. The requirement is not usually literally interpreted. In Grant v . AKM [1936] AC 85, it was not held to be possible where underwear was supplied to the retailer in packets. See also Murphy v .
