Register of Sasines

Register of Sasines
a Scottish public record. Created by the Registration Act 1617, this register is still the most important property register in Scotland. It is a register of deeds rather than land and is entirely feudal in nature. It is being replaced by a modern system of registration of title to land as quickly as finance and the profession can manage.
