NASDAQ
The US screen-based system for the quotation and transfer of securities. (NASDAQ was originally an acronym for the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation System.) The market is divided into two tiers: the National Market and the SmallCap Market. Each tier has its own set of financial requirements that a company must meet to list its securities. In addition, all listed companies are required to meet certain standards of corporate governance. Each tier has a set of minimum financial requirements that a company must meet for continued listing. The Marketplace Rules contain the listing rules for NASDAQ.
