offeror, Also known as a bidder. Any company or individual who makes an offer or is considering making an offer to which the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers (the Code) applies. Paragraph 3 of the Introduction to the Code sets out the rules as to the companies, transactions and persons to which the Code applies. The Code definition of offeror provides that any reference to an offeror includes a potential offeror.
