official industrial action

official industrial action
industrial action is treated as "official" if the trade union whose members are taking part has endorsed or authorised it and has not subsequently repudiated it. Where members of more than one union are taking part, all unions must authorise or endorse it otherwise it is unofficial. If none of the employees taking part are members of any union, the action is neither official nor unofficial, but the employees' unfair dismissal rights are the same as they would be during official action.
