Strategic Infrastructure Partnership

Strategic Infrastructure Partnership
Strategic Infrastructure Partnership (SIP)
an arrangement between the public sector and a private sector partner, intended to address a series of infrastructure issues or projects over a period of time. It may be a joint venture or be established by contract. The private sector partner or its supply chain will provide the works and services required by the public sector. The two most obvious examples of SIPs are the LiftCos set up as part of a Local Improvement Finance Trust initiative and the Local Education Partnerships set up under most Building Schools for the Future projects.
