US Trustee. Also known as United States Trustee and UST.
An officer of the US Justice Department appointed to assist the court in bankruptcy cases. USTs are responsible for supervising the administration of the bankruptcy cases, including appointing and monitoring official committees, reviewing professional fee applications and monitoring plans and disclosure statements.
