Also known as avoiding power, avoidance, avoiding or avoid. The rights belonging to a debtor or Chapter 11 trustee in bankruptcy to void liens created before bankruptcy or to reverse certain transfers of property (such as preferences and fraudulent transfers) made before bankruptcy, and recover such property for the benefit of the estate to pay creditors.
