The standard scale of fines for summary offences contained in section 37(2), Criminal Justice Act 1982 (as modified by section 17 of the Criminal Justice Act 1991) for England and section 225 of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 for Scotland (<
Section 37(3) Criminal Justice Act 1982 provides that any reference in an enactment to a person convicted of a summary offence being liable to a fine or a maximum fine on the standard scale, is a reference to the standard scale in section 37(2).
