bailiwick
one of the two jurisdictions in the Channel Islands. The bailiwick of Jersey comprises the island of Jersey and the two groups of islets known as Les Minquiers and Les Ecréhous. The bailiwick of Guernsey comprises the islands of Guernsey, Sark, Alderney, Brechou and associated islets.
