Hansard

Hansard
the official report of Parliamentary debates, known by the name of the original publisher, now published by HMSO. While it reflects verbatim what is said in Parliament, until very recently it could not be referred to for the purposes of statutory interpretation. Since the decision of the House of Lords in Pepper v . Hart [1992] 3 WLR 1032, it is now permissible to refer to Hansard in cases of ambiguity. See also defamation.
